John Godwin, CCIM

During the course of his career with the Marcus & Millichap, John has closed more than 400 transactions totaling more than $1.50 billion. His industrial property sales alone exceed $450 million and 4.5 million square feet. John’s total office property sales are above $400 million and 1 million square feet and total retail property sales are $375 million with over 2 million square feet of space sold. Throughout his career, John has been involved in leasing or selling in excess of 14 million square feet of industrial, office, high-tech, retail, hotel and multi-family properties in 20 different states, with a primary concentration throughout the greater Michigan and Midwest marketplace.

John J. Godwin joined Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Services in March 2000 with a strong background in business, negotiation and sales. John was inducted as a senior investment associate in 2004, promoted four years later to vice president investments, and in 2014 John became Senior Vice President Investments.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oakland University.  In addition, he has completed the coursework to become a Certified Commercial Investment Member.  Prior to his real estate career, John held positions with Colliers International focusing on Investment Leasing Brokerage, Automatic Data Processing Inc., and Tandem Computers Inc., marketing services to the Big Three Automotive Manufacturers.   His technical background, coupled with an advanced business degree, has proven successful in building a strong foundation for his career in real estate. John has been active in the real estate market for over thirty years and is the recipient of dozens of awards for his sales performance, including being recognized as one of the top fifteen Sales Brokers in the nation by Real Estate Forum Magazine (2017), Sales Recognition Award (2001-08, 2010-12, 2014-17), National Achievement Award (2002-07, 2014-17); as well as, being inducted into the 2011 Midwest CRE Hall of Fame, Sales with Distinction (1990), Salesperson of the Year (1991), and Deal of the Year (1991, 1993).

MELISSA MANN

Melissa joined Marcus & Millichap in 2017 assisting the Godwin Group team in marketing, transactional, and day-to-day operations.  As a valuable asset to the team, she became well versed in income and expense analysis, market studies, and property acquisition.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and is working toward her master’s degree in business administration.  Specializing in office and industrial properties, she utilizes the Marcus & Millichap platform to further her client’s success.  Providing expertise and top-quality service to her clients is priority to her.

Melissa desired to further her real estate education, so she spent time in the residential arena, prior to becoming an associate.  This experience made her acknowledge that she could add more value to her clients by combining real estate and investments.  Melissa paired her knowledge and experience managing large manufacturing companies and decided that an office and industrial specialization was her obvious path.  When Melissa isn’t assisting clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
